Why Mix #1 and #2
If you’ve ever ordered a bushel of all-#1 males and watched it disappear in 90 minutes, you know the math: you spend the most money to get the biggest crabs and they’re gone first. The mixed bushel solves that.
Half the bushel is top-grade #1 males — your trophy crabs to start the feast with. The other half is #2 males — still hard-shell, still loaded with sweet body meat, just a step smaller and at a much better price per crab. You stretch the feast longer and pay less per crab on average.

How many crabs in a mixed bushel? Roughly 5-6 dozen total.
Can I do a non-50/50 split? Yes — 60/40 or 70/30 either way is fine. Just tell us on the call.
Is this cheaper than all-#1? Yes, meaningfully. The #2 portion brings the average per-crab cost down significantly.
Can I add some females? Yes — call and ask. We can do a male/female blended bushel if you’d like, though most people prefer to keep grades and sexes separate.
